Scope of the Regulation and exclusions






At the time of drawing up this guidance only List (2) has been published, and the enforcement of the regulation is limited to only those products which are included in this list.
According to List (2): The following 13 categories of electrical equipment and appliances are subjected to the CAP in Annex (4) of the GSO LV TR and require Gulf Type Examination certification by a Notified Body:
1. Domestic Electrical Fans
2. Refrigerators, freezers and other refrigerating or freezing equipment
3. Centrifugal clothes dryers and Clothes washing machines, including machines which both wash and dry
4. Food grinders and mixers, fruit or vegetable juice extractors.
5. Toasters
6. Electro-thermic hair-dressing apparatus and hand dryers
7. Domestic electric heating apparatus
8. Microwave ovens
9. Other ovens; cookers, cooking plates, boiling rings, grillers and roasters
10. Electric instantaneous or storage water heaters and immersion heaters
11. Electric smoothing irons
12. Plugs, Socket outlets, Adaptors, Cord Extension Sets and chargers
13. Air conditioners



The specified equipment and appliances in the current version of List (2) (Document Ref# TC143307-01) are the first implementation phase of GSO LV TR, the said List (2) has included products that are for household and similar use which are considered high risk products since they are intended to be used by non-trained end-users and consumers.
Appliances that can be installed in public venues and common spaces - such as shops, offices, restaurants, bakeries, bed & breakfasts, hotels, light industry and farms – and can be used by nonprofessionals are also considered in scope.
Products exclusively for commercial or industrial use and not commonly used by end-users and consumers are considered out of scope of this version of List (2).
Products that can be used in both applications shall be considered in implementation.
